Wir beteiligen uns aktiv an der Weiterentwicklung der Medizin, insbesondere im Bereich der Viszeral- und Thoraxchirurgie. In diesem Zusammenhang bearbeiten wir in Forschungsgruppen diverse Projekte. Besonders wichtig sind uns eigene klinische Studien sowie die Beteiligung an nationalen und internationalen Projekten.

Studien

Dragon 1 – Training, Akreditierung, Implementierung und Sicherheitsevaluation des kombinierten Verschlusses von Portal- und Lebervenen zur Vorbereitung eines kleinen Leberrestes vor ausgedehnten Leberresektionen

Studieninhalt
In diesem Projekt wird untersucht, ob die Leber nicht noch schneller wächst, wenn man sowohl das Blut, das aus dem Darm in die Leber, als auch das Blut, das aus der Leber zum Herzen zurückfliesst, umleitet. Diese neue Methode wird «kombinierte Portalvenen- und Lebervenen-Embolisation» genannt. Ziel dieser vielversprechenden Technik ist es, das Wachstum der Leber zu beschleunigen um somit schneller die chirurgische Entfernung des kranken Leberteils durchführen zu können.

CTC Pancreatic adenocarcinoma – Resezierbares Pankreas-Karzinom – Hat die Wahl des Narkosemittels einen Einfluss auf zirkulierende Tumorzellen?

Studieninhalt
Mit dieser randomisierten kontrollierten Multizenter Studie (Kantonsspital Winterthur, Kantonsspital St. Gallen, Stadtspital Triemli) werden wir untersuchen, ob die Anästhetika (Desfluran vs Propofol) bei Patientinnen/Patienten nach Resektion eines Adenokarzinoms des Pankreas einen Einfluss auf die Anzahl zirkulierender Tumorzellen (CTC) in der postoperativen Phase haben und ob der postoperative Verlauf mit den CTC korreliert.
